ZEW Conference on Economics of Information and Communication Technologies 2012

The conference objective is to discuss recent scientific contributions to the economics of information and communication technologies (ICT) and the economics of ICT industries. Theoretical, empirical and policy-oriented contributions are welcome. The deadline for submission of full papers is March 20, 2012. The conferenc will take place in Mannheim, June 28 – 29, 2012.

Registration
The deadline for submission of full papers is March 20, 2012. Please submit papers in PDF or MS Word format to: ict-conference@zew.de. The decision on acceptance will be reached no later than April 20, 2012. The conference fee is € 200. For participants who present a paper, the conference fee is reduced to € 100, travel expenses (economy class) and accommodation will be covered by the ZEW. Presenters will be kindly asked to discuss another paper. All participants are requested to register no later than May 10, 2011. Tim Pohlmann is a post-doctoral researcher in economics at Mines ParisTech and Berlin Institute of Technology. He specializes in the economic analysis of markets for technology. He earned his doctoral degree with the highest distinctions in August 2012 from the Berlin Institute of Technology with a dissertation on patenting and coordination in ICT standardization. Tim’s research covers the empirical analysis of the trade of patents, patent trolls, standardization consortia and patent pools. He has presented his work at a large number of international conferences. Tim has been actively involved in preparing studies for the European Commission and the German Federal Government on the role of patents in technological standardization and business models in Open Source Software.
